Position: NEMT Driver – Stretcher Van
Job Summary
H&M Transport is seeking compassionate and reliable Stretcher Van Drivers to safely transport patients to and from homes, medical appointments, dialysis centers, and hospital discharges. This role requires professionalism, physical capability, and a strong commitment to customer service. Drivers operate company-provided vehicles and work flexible schedules, including rotating weekends and holidays.
Compensation & Benefits
Projected annual earnings: $50,000 – $70,000 (top drivers)
Hourly pay: $18 – $20 per hour

Duties & Responsibilities
With the assistance of a partner, transport passengers via stretcher or wheelchair to medical appointments and hospital discharges
Pick up clients at their homes or living facilities and assist with safe boarding of clients and caregivers
Transfer passengers from hospital bed to stretcher following company procedures
Secure passengers using a 5-point harness and properly secure the stretcher inside the vehicle
Escort patients into medical facilities and ensure proper handoff to facility staff
Perform wheelchair transports using approved securement procedures and complete proper handoffs
Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle interior and exterior using company car wash membership
Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintenance checks using company software
Follow all company safety, operational, and loading/unloading protocols
Communicate transport details with dispatch in a fast-paced environment
Operate mobile devices, GPS units, company email, and transportation software
Maintain a friendly, professional, and courteous demeanor at all times
Perform other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and maneuver patients weighing up to 250 lbs., with assistance
Ability to transfer patients from bed to stretcher, with assistance
Ability to lift and maneuver a stretcher up and down three steps, with assistance
Requirements & Qualifications
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening, MVR check, and background check
Strong attendance and punctuality record
Ability to safely operate stretcher-equipped passenger vehicles
Patient, calm, and professional when interacting with clients and caregivers
Ability to work independently and remain composed during emergencies
Ability to drive long distances and for extended periods
Reliable transportation to and from work
Ability to drive in inclement weather conditions
Flexibility to work on-call rotations, weekends, holidays, and after-hours shifts
Report to work on time and in proper company-issued uniform
